Thieves lurk at a high society party hosted by a jeweller. Their target is an alexandrite ring called “Alexander’s tear” and said to be the the best jewel among jewels. Kamimura Rei (Matsuzaka Toori) has been recruited by Nishizaki, the butler of a mysterious woman called Kitaba Yoko, to steal the ring. Katagiri Karen (Omasa Aya) and Kishihara Taiga (Fukushi Seiji) have each been recruited for the same purpose too, and they plot to get close to the target. Rei, who prefers to play the lone wolf, had accepted the job because Nishizaki had hinted at knowing something about lost memory. Neither Rei, Karen, Taiga nor another thief are aware of each other. And so, this leads to an all out demonstration of their ability to cheat and steal what has been stolen. Namiki Kohei (Nishijima Hidetoshi) is a somber, single man in his 40s. He is the type whom the people around him can force impossible demands on and is always made to take care of the three children of his older sister Yukiko (Ikuta Tomoko). Even though Kohei and Yuna cannot completely understand each other’s language, he is deployed to guard her for a period of 99 days. At first, the two of them clash, but the distance between them gradually shrinks, and they find themselves supporting each other’s dreams. Four young people have been arrested for crimes they did not commit. One of them is Katsuragi Ataru (Ichihara Hayato) who has been wrongly accused of murder and put behind bars in a Kita Kyushu jail. However, when he learns that his daughter with Sasaoka Yuki (Fukuda Saki) is in a critical condition because of an incurable heart ailment, he decides to break out of the jail. He is joined by three buddies – Kawashima Ryunosuke (Tsukamoto Takashi), a gangster serving a 10-year sentence for a murder; Takimoto Kuya (Ueda Tatsuya), a former host sentenced to 4 years for violation of the stimulant drugs control act and obstructing officers from performing their duty; and Kagami Shun (Suda Masaki), an ex-dispatch rider sentenced to 3 years for violating the stimulant drugs control act too. Although their motives and backgrounds are different, all of them are innocent and there are reasons why they cannot wait till their release. They have to get out of this jail as soon as they can. So they band together and begin to plan their escape in order to accomplish their goals. Morimoto Naoko (Eikura Nana) is the only daughter of the owner of an olive farm that faces the Seto Inland Sea.
